I collect watches, and I kept forgetting things about them — who serviced which one and when, what the strap was before this one, where a piece actually came from. Photographs of them were scattered across a phone. So this is the ledger: a page per watch, a specification, and a dated record that gets added to rather than replaced.

Some of the writing is about the watches. Some of it is about the things you only notice once you have to describe an object properly.
